Enterprise Ireland’s “Be Prepared” Grant Helping Irish businesses Overcome Brexit Concerns

Enterprise Ireland recently launched grant scheme, “Be Prepared” is helping businesses address their worries in relation to Brexit. According to Enterprise Ireland, the grant is being used to assist businesses in the cost of developing a Brexit response strategy

According to the official Enterprise Ireland website “The Be Prepared Grant supports Enterprise clients in preparing an action plan. The grant – which offers up to €5,000 in support – can be used to help cover consultancy, travel and travel expenses associated with researching and developing their action plan.”

Who is eligible?

The grant is open to all existing clients of Enterprise Ireland that meet the following criteria:

• Actively trading
• Engaged ineligible activities
• Will be impacted by Brexit
• Have completed the Brexit scorecard

What costs are eligible?

The maximum amount available is €5,000. The amount is calculated at a maximum of 50% expenditure incurred by the successful applicant.

Eligible costs include:

• External consultant fees covering areas such as: Strategy, market development operations, people, finance and innovation.
• Employee travel and travel expenses (domestic and international) related to research as outlined above.

Ineligible costs:

• Expenditure prior to date of application
• Consultant expenses
• Sales related expenses
• Trade Fair participation costs
• Salaries
• Overheads
