National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition

In the spirit of getting our message out there, we’re proud to be attending the above event at the Citywest Exhibition Centre in Dublin on the 29th and 30th January 2020. We’ll have our very own stand too (F14), where we’ll be exhibiting as both Myriad Associates and Tax Cloud, so do come over and chat to us about any aspect of R&D tax credits in Ireland. We’ll be pleased to discuss anything you want to know around R&D tax credits, grant bid writing, and show you how we can work with you to secure and maximise your public funding claim.

What is R&D tax credits?

Essentially, the Irish government has long supported growth and innovation, because growing businesses mean a growing economy. But it also recognises that R&D is expensive, sometimes prohibitively so for smaller companies and start-ups.

Back in the early 2000s it therefore launched a number of measures to help with the cost of innovation, including R&D Tax Credits (offering either a reduction in Corporation Tax or a cash lump sum) and tax-free grants. Both options can mean a substantial cash injection to a company, often worth many thousands of euros.

The application process for both however is not easy; numerous pieces of evidence are required, with many grey areas and pitfalls. At best, if a company gets an application wrong it may miss out on a portion of the money it’s owed. At worst, it could end up with a tax investigation by the Revenue.

This is where we come in. Myriad Associates will support you in making the most successful application you can, whether you’re a company director, manager or business accountant assisting a client. We’ll take the stress out of applying and answer any questions you may have along the way, for a high-quality, fully optimised claim.

You can find out more about R&D Tax Credits and R&D Grants on our website.

Interested in R&D grant funding specifically?

Come along and listen to our very own head of grants, Marc Greatrex, who will be speaking at the National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition on the 30th at 10.40am on The National Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences Expo Stage.

Marc leads a specialist grant writing team that secured €54.7m for Irish clients just in 2018/19. His projects include medical devices, biotechnology, microtechnology and pharmaceuticals with funding predominantly sourced from H2020 EIC Accelerator, H2020 Fast Track to Innovation and national DTIF.

Highlights of Marc’s talk will focus on how best to secure public funding for Medtech & Biotech.

Catch Marc again…

If you’d like to find out even more about grant funding, Marc is speaking again on the day after the show (Friday, 31st January) at Enterprise Ireland’s head office.

This event is an information session aimed at ambitious businesses wishing to accelerate and globalise their R&D projects using H2020 programmes.

Enterprise Ireland clients secured over €36 million in grants under this initiative in 2019 alone. This is your chance to learn more about the new Horizon 2020 European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator Pilot (SME Instrument Phase 2) including funding opportunities for the Green Deal which will support companies in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also looks at financing opportunities for female entrepreneurs.

Marc and others are on hand throughout the session to advise you on all aspects of the bid writing process, including eligibility requirements and how to compile an exceptional, winning application.

The event will be held between 9.15am and 12.30pm in Conference Rooms 1 and 2, East Point Business Park, Dublin 3. You can find the agenda for the day on the Eventbrite website.

Developed by us, the Tax Cloud portal allows both businesses and accountants to log on and be guided through the R&D tax relief process using specific details about their own business/client. It allows for the entering of real-time figures, providing an accurate forecast of what an organisation could claim for, and how much.

Designed especially for companies and accountants in the Republic of Ireland, you can visit the Tax Cloud portal here.
